Road Trip in Puglia

One summer, we went on a road trip in Puglia. Not on this vintage Royal Enfield motorcycle, but in a standard issue of tiny European car rentals. We drove all over the heel of Italy’s gorgeous boot, swam in the grottos, and enjoyed the Puglian cuisine (perfect for vegetarians btw). This motorcycle was photographed in the town of Lecce - a lovely, sort of low key opulent meets rustic community, inland from the coast. Lecce is very old world, with an abundance of cathedrals, impressive architectural craftsmanship (marble streets and gutters and brass door stops), ruins, and is the origin of the Leccese coffee: espresso poured over ice with house-made almond syrup. This motorcycle captures the wild at heart spirit of this part of Italy.

Color Story

I once found myself in some Parisian primary color story magic. Almost everywhere I looked, the universe gathered in red, yellow, and blue…connecting Rothko to a fish market to Serge Gainsbourg’s guest book to a shelf in my favorite bookstore, the Arc de Triomphe, and a delicious cocktail at our neighborhood gem: The Little Red Door.

Meyabe

A trip to Paris would not be complete without a visit to 0fr, a mainstay of the Marais.

A darling of the neighborhood, the bookstore and gallery oozes creativity and style in a low-key authentic way. 0fr embodies excellent taste with an impressive curation that mixes the avant garde with the classic. It’s a dreamy little nook to get lost in, for artists, beatniks, and romantics alike. The space sells art, photography, sometimes vintage apparel pieces, and always some artisanal store merch. Their exhibits and book signings host some of the most brilliant humans of our time. Tilda Swinton and Sofia Coppola, to illustrate the caliber.

Jan 2024 during fashion week, 0fr had a book launch for Meyabe, the self-taught French street photographer whose inimitable style is “cinematic and instinctual”.
